The added desalination unit will increase the total capacity of water to 40,000cu.m./d. It is planned to complete the chimney construction by July 2011, however the power plant itself will be operational as of January 2014 after Final Acceptance has been issued by GECOL. Tamer Tunca, Member of the Board of Endem Group and General Manager of Endem Construction, said: We are very proud to be provided the opportunity to make a contribution to energy development in Libya through this contract. The two chimneys rising 150m in the sky above Sirte will be Endem Construction’s signature in Libya as we honor the 51st year of our company in the construction industry.
